Bio
I wish to develop a hybrid style, probing the tortured human soul, through contrasting stories between light and shadow. I like to juggle between classic and abstract, hope and despair, poetry and suspense.
The themes of sacrifice, fear of failure, as well as that of appearances, constitute my vision of cinema. I am comfortable with all cinematographic genres, both from a spectator and creator point of view. I particularly like unconventional storytelling, almost experimental, where the author deals with universal subjects in a personal way.
I am also attracted by solitary protagonists, in internal conflict, with multiple contradictions and questionable moral choices. Examples: Rust Cohle, Leonard Shelby, The Driver (2011), Wikus Van de Merwe or even Bruce Wayne.
In short, I like… Ambiguity. Both moral and aesthetic ambiguity.
Arrival is the film that best represents my artistic personality.
